Smokin hot prancing horse concept by Sasha Selipanov
2 Comments Published July 23rd, 2010 in 3D, Automotive, Design, VideoYou know that expression you get on your face when you see something that completely catches you off guard . . . yeah you know the one I’m talking about. That goofy, wild eyed, jaws dropped “whaaaa” look. Yup. that sorry excuse for an intro is what I expressed when I saw this gorgeous form study from Sasha Selipanov.
I purposely wanted to use the side profile as the header so you could get your pretty little eyes around that . . . what for it . . . absolutely sexy sweeping figure. Yes I can be easily impressed and generally a big sucker for concept art but when an idea is executed with this kind of precision and grace, it can rarely leave anything short of a beautiful imprint in ones mind.
Now for some critiquing. The intersection between the canopy and rear guards reminds me too much of the one-77. I think this area could have been made slightly crisper & resolved with a greater level of finesse. Those huge rear wheel vents are just overkill and seem almost like an after thought. Another area where delicacy and finesse would’ve gone a long way. I really like the variances in surface transitions that Sasha has achieved for the front aero – my only quarm here is that the splitter sections on the lower grille need to have slightly more meat to strengthen the overall impact of the front bar. Love the overall form, love the lights, love the mirrors, love the rims and would happily bear it’s prancing offspirng.
I could go on for another 30mins about how badly I want ferrari to give this guy a job and get this car to production or at least proto-race level but it’s late and I think I’ve made my point.
Make sure you check out the video below but like me, you may prefer to view it on mute . . . unless you want to be reminded of dodging bullets and Morpheus. EGADS!
P.S. The youtube vid doesn’t do the images justice so check out the full gallery at Autoblog after the jump.

Truly the hottest Ferrari we will never see.. As hot as the Testa, with uniqueness of the Enzo. My only critique is that the general shape of the curves remind me of the 240z. Then again, the devil Z being my favourite car ever produced, I guess it really isnt a criticism at all.. More of a observation.
mmm, saw this a while back, didn’t see the video though. definitely would be awesome to see this in production.
