Possibly one of, if not the most beautiful song of 2009 for me would have to be ‘Riot on an Empty Street,’ by Kings of Convenience. This beautiful, romantic yet haunting track is from their long awaited 4th album ‘Declaration of Dependance.’ The Norwegian duo have been known for their truly graceful songwriting but this album is just pure aural poetry and very much in my top ten for 2009.

This album takes me to warm day dream afternoons of lost memories of childhood fun. With its relaxing melodies, smooth vocals and honest lyrics, Declaration of Dependance is hard to keep off repeat!
