blast from the past

Yup, there are few other things that will de-stress me quite as simply & as easily as a quick & dirty photo-chop! Unsure about what I mean? Read here.
So, I just randomly found this golden oldie and boy did it bring back some fond memories! Back when I first bought my Silvia, I was already an import nut but lacked any real modding experience. I had plenty ambition for the sil but very little in terms of coin to fuel the jet. So to quench my every expanding modding thirst, I would often imagine & visualize potential looks for my rusting stock bucket of a Silvia (back then =P).
Below is a quick render of a two tone paint combination that I was quite into back in those days. A cherry apple red for the body, complimented by a matte/satin black cabin top. A simple nismo front with matte lower diffuser, fender flares and some 17 silver spokies to finish her off! Delish!
I never did end up getting cherry apple red but a lot of those elements made it into that first very gawdy version of the Sil (see last photo). Since then though I’ve settle for a far simpler and tougher look but it’s always nice to momentarily reflect upon those fond days of endless possibilities!
Check these versions too.

RS-Watanabe toughness! Still dream about those rims! =)

A later version with tougher offset and a more rugged functional track look plus some 5Zigen FN01r-C goodness on the back.

And finally some of those elements from the initial visual making it onto the first iteration of the Silvia. =)
Hindsight is a beautiful thing! ^_^

Yes indeed…and I remember the days back before the duco was done and she rode as high as a kite, he he, now I’m thinking of the R31….
And I’m thinking we should’ve done nebo cruises as much as possible back then! =)
When you buy and modify your Z, we’ll meet up in melbourne and do great ocean road, then back to adelaide for the hills! ^_^
